Multimedia Journalist and Morning Show Host – Kewanee, Illinois

 

Position Available: Multimedia Journalist and Morning Show Host

 

Location:  Kewanee, Illinois

 

Position Summary: Regional Media - Kewanee, Illinois is seeking a Multimedia Journalist and Morning Show Host for our award winning operation. The successful candidate will be expected to produce news content for our on-air and digital products, host a very popular long time morning show, and work with all departments within Regional Media. Position requires hosting of longtime morning show, and ongoing realtime producing of local news stories. We use various platforms including radio broadcast, digital web, and social media. Position will require excellent writing skills along with knowledge of both audio and video production/editing along with strong social media skills.

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, broadcast journalism, English, or related field is preferred, but not required.

 

Experience: Two-years of journalistic experience and on-air work, or work in a related field.

 

Job Description & Duties:

  • Strong news writing ability for on-air broadcast and digital product
  • Interest in state and local news, along with local take on national
  • Passionate about reporting on local events
  • Applicant must be hard working and self motivated
  • Open to flexible work schedule and reliable to work hours required
  • Ability to adapt to cover multiple styles of news; i.e. hard news, human interest, sports
  • Must be able to adapt to multi-platform reporting and prepare news through multiple channels; i.e. on-air broadcast, video, and website/social media
  • Digital audio and video editing skills such as Adobe Audition and Adobe Final Cut
  • Creative and not afraid to bring something new to the table
  • Understanding of how to effectively use social media to build brand
  • Ability to start and maintain relationships with community leaders/story subjects
  • Effective storytelling abilities
  • Strong morning show skills with a passion for localism

Regional Media  in Macomb, who owns K100, Classic 103, Backroad Country 95.9, MacombNewsNow.com, MacombNewsNowRadio 104.7, Good Time Oldies 104.1, and Positive 1510AM is looking for a qualified candidate for it's advertising division. The ideal person for the Sales & Marketing position is one who has a passion for selling and a proven record of success with prospecting, closing, and retaining new advertisers to establish a diverse and established client list. You must be capable of presenting articulately, enthusiastically and persuasively in person, on the phone, or in writing. Your core responsibility will be to increase our advertiser base and achieve a specific revenue target. Must be able to perform against quota and excel in a highly competitive market.
