ABC/Eric McCandlessKaty Perry went through quite a lot of tissues for this Sunday’s American Idol.
In an exclusive preview of the episode on People, one of the contestants gets a surprise proposal from her boyfriend and brings the recently-engaged Katy to tears.
Johanna Jones was getting ready to walk off the stage during Hollywood Week when her boyfriend Matt walked on and got down on one knee.
Katy immediately starts bawling, but to see Johanna’s full reaction -- and whether or not she says yes -- you’ll have to tune in.
The proposal comes just after two of last season's contestants, Gabby Barrett and Cade Foehner, announced their engagement Friday.
In another preview clip on Entertainment Weekly, Katy needs tissues for a very different reason. She’s dealing with a cold, so she sticks two tissues up her nose and tells the contestants the show must go on. Luke Bryan challenges her to sing “Firework” with her nose plugged and she belts it out like a pro.

Meanwhile, J.Lo and her new fiancé Alex Rodriguez received a very special congratulations on their engagement from none other than Barack and Michelle Obama.

Monday kicks off the next phase of the competition with help from team advisors. In an exclusive preview on People, Adam Levine gushes over his team’s advisor, Charlie Puth.
In the clip, Adam says he chose Charlie to help his contestants because he’s “brilliant musically” and “the perfect advisor.”
“Charlie is amazing,” Adam says. “I’ve known him for a few years now. We just love talking about music and really are kind of cut from the same cloth as far as our influences and the things that we love.”
Charlie previously served as a mentor for former coach Alicia Keys’ team in 2016.
Kelly Clarkson’s team advisor this season is country star Kelsea Ballerini, while John Legend’s is Khalid. Blake Shelton has two advisors: legendary country duo Brooks & Dunn.
Def Jam RecordingsLogic has released the title track off his upcoming new album, along with a bloody music video.
"Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" finds Logic -- birth name Bobby Hall -- reflecting on the negative aspects of fame. He admits to insecurities and suicidal thoughts, but the song ends on an uplifting note with Logic rapping about his vision for a better future.
"Do what you love and do not give a damn/F*** all the haters you see on the 'Gram/Just mind your own business and be a good man," he raps.
In the music video, Logic starts the song as blood begins to flow from a gash on his neck. The wound gets worse and worse but he seems to numb to the pain, even lighting up a joint at one point.
The clip ends with a blood-soaked Logic smiling at the camera and walking away.
"I wrote this one in Blood," Logic says of the track on Twitter.
That's not the only writing he's been doing. While his new album doesn't yet have a release date, Logic's debut novel comes out next week. Supermarket, a dark thriller, hits shelves March 26.
Kevin Winter/Getty Images via ABCIn honor of Madonna’s Like a Prayer album turning 30 on Thursday, fans can now sport new 30th anniversary merch.
Madonna's official store now includes several Like a Prayer t-shirts, a pillow, rosary beads and tote bag. One of the t-shirts features “Saint Madonna” in a stained glass window, while another features a sketched design of the Madonna image.
Another tee, as well as the pillow and tote, feature a 30th anniversary edition of the album cover.
A signed Like a Prayer vinyl album will randomly be included in one of the order placed before 11:59 p.m. PST Friday.
Like a Prayer, Madonna’s fourth studio album, was released March 21, 1989. It spawned the hit title track, as well as “Express Yourself” and “Cherish.”
Earlier this month, Madonna celebrated the 30th anniversary of the title track’s release and reminded everyone of the controversy the music video stirred back then.
"30 years ago today I released 'Like a Prayer' and made a video that caused so much controversy because I kissed a black saint and danced in front of burning crosses!” she wrote on Instagram. “I also made a commercial with PEPSI that was banned because my video was seen as inappropriate. ?????? Happy Birthday to Me and Controversy!"
ABC/Image Group LAAmerican Idol isn't just good at finding singing talent -- it's apparently good at finding love matches, too.
Last season's winner Maddie Poppe is dating her runner-up Caleb Lee Hutchinson, and now two other former contestants are engaged.
Gabby Barrett, 19, and Cade Foehner, 22, confirmed to People that they are getting hitched. The proposal took place at the L.A. hotel where they first met while competing on Idol.
Cade says that while he has been thinking about proposing for a while, he actually hadn't planned on doing it that particular day. But the fact that they were in the same hotel made it seem like the perfect opportunity.
"My sister overnighted the ring to our church," Cade says.
The young couple hasn't set a date yet, but say they want to get married in "colder weather." And, of course, judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan will all be getting invites.
"The judges are like family to us," Gabby says. "Idol was the very beginning of our love story and we would love for all of our family to be there."
The only other Idol couple to get hitched are Diana DeGarmo, the runner-up from season three, and Ace Young, a contestant on season five.
With TV appearances including The Ellen DeGeneres Show, a headlining U.S. tour, a gold single and now the release of his debut album, A Place We Knew, Australian singer/songwriter Dean Lewis has discovered that making it big in America hasn't been nearly as hard as he thought. It's been a pleasant surprise for a guy who thought U.S. success was just a pipe dream.
"We have this thing in Australia...everyone knows it: to break in America, it's impossible," Dean tells ABC Radio. "I guess now maybe it's becoming a smaller world....but in the past, it's been impossible."
"You also hear about how slow things move in America, on radio and stuff like that, but for me it's been quite fast," he marvels. "So everything that I've heard about here -- and the impossibility of it -- all seems very possible right now."
Friday's release of A Place We Knew follows the global success of Dean's hit, "Be Alright." But he says don't expect a whole album full of those sad breakup ballads.
"Actually, 'Be Alright's' probably the saddest song on there, in the sense of like, the tempo," he tells ABC Radio. "There's definitely a lot of other stuff, and there's horns on there as well -- y'know, just trying to make some of the choruses pop."
Dean says A Place We Knew reflects who he is an artist, something he claims he didn't have a clue about when he released his 2017 EP, Same Kind of Different.
"An EP is like, you throw everything at the wall, you don't really know what your sound is," he explains. "I didn't know what my style was. Now...I know straightaway how to make a song sound like me."
Gotham/GC ImagesJustin Bieber is putting down roots in Los Angeles.
According to E! News, last week the singer bought an $8.5 million Beverly Hills home for himself and his wife Hailey Baldwin.
The more than 6,100-square foot house has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a sunken family room, a wine cellar, an infinity pool with a cabana, and a screening room inspired by the nearby Beverly Hills Hotel – among other amenities.
Bieber hasn’t owned a house in L.A. in around five years. He used to own a six-bedroom, seven-bathroom home in Calabasas, but sold it to Khloe Kardashian in 2014 for $7.2 million. That was the house he was living in when he was charged with misdemeanor vandalism for egging his neighbor’s house.
Since then, he’s been renting properties around L.A., New York and London. According to Architectural Digest, in 2016, he rented a 15-bedroom mansion in London for a whopping $133,000 a month.
Andrew MacPhersonPink is dancing with shadows in the new video for “Walk Me Home.”
The cinematic clip begins with Pink walking down a busy city street in a red dress. Suddenly, everything stops and we see Pink alone on the street. She begins walking and dancing by herself. As the chorus kicks in, she floats off the ground.
Pretty soon, she isn’t completely alone: She’s joined by dancing shadows. There’s even a stunning sequence where she performs a routine along with the shadows projected onto the side of a building.
It ends with Pink coming back to reality and finding herself on a crowded street once again.
The video was directed by The Greatest Showman’s Michael Gracey and co-directed by Stuart Bowen. Pink previously recorded the song "A Million Dreams" for The Greatest Showman: Reimagined soundtrack.
"Walk Me Home" is the first single from Pink's upcoming album Hurts 2B Human, out April 26.
ABC/Rick RowellMore than a year before A Star Is Born came out, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper were seen hanging out. So what are we to make of the news that Gaga's now been seen hanging out with Jeremy Renner?
A source tells Us Weeklythat Gaga and the Oscar-nominated actor have been "spending a lot of time together," but they "don't believe it's romantic at this point."
And it's not just Renner: The source dishes that Gaga has been hanging with the Avengers star and his six-year-old daughter Ava, whom he shares with his ex, Sonni Pacheco.
If Gaga's pre-production behavior with Cooper is anything to go by, this could mean that Gaga's lined up another acting job, and Renner's part of the project.
Gaga called off her engagement to Christian Carino a month ago and has been seen out having fun with reality stars Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd, and popping into an L.A. jazz club to perform a set.

Wes And AlexMaroon 5's "Girls Like You" is one of the band's biggest hits, if not the biggest, and its innovative, star-studded video is one reason why. Now the video has reached an impressive milestone.
The video, with its message of female empowerment, released May 30, 2018, has now racked up two billion views across Vevo and YouTube. It reached that milestone in just 10 months.
"Girls Like You" featured Adam Levine singing while surrounded by notable and accomplished women, among them Jennifer Lopez, Tiffany Haddish, Gal Gadot, Mary J. Blige, Chloe Kim, Aly Raisman, Sarah Silverman, Ellen DeGeneres, Danica Patrick, Elizabeth Banks, Ashley Graham and more.
While the song itself was #1 for seven weeks and spent 33 weeks in the top 10, it's the video for "Girls Like You" that landed the song on the New York Times' recent list of "The Top 25 Songs That Matter Right Now."
"At a time when women and nonwhite men have been facing down the White House and law enforcement’s relentless disrespect with civic, public and artistic resolve, the most crucial multitude were the 26 female entertainers, athletes, politicians, activists and survivors who seized control of the song’s video," writes the New York Times.
The Times describe Adam Levine in the video as "the ultimate embodiment of a stubbly, privileged white bro who belatedly realizes that he needs his partner."
ABC/Image Group LAFor the next few months, Julia Michaels will be pulling double duty on the road: She’s weaving headlining tour dates in between her supporting gigs for Pink’s Beautiful Trauma tour. And in a new interview with Inkedmagazine, Julia says she's been a longtime fan of Pink, who balances her own daunting tour schedule with raising two young kids.
“I got to write with her for her last album [Beautiful Trauma] and got to meet her and talk to her, sit down with her...,” Julia says. “It was amazing. She really is who you think she is. She's just a bada**, unapologetic, beautiful, awesome person, and I've gotten to watch her perform a few times.”
She adds, “I've just never seen anything like it. How she can control her voice while doing acrobatics the entire time. It’s pretty exciting and pretty nerve-wracking, but mostly exciting.”
Julia has worked with some of the best in the biz, most recently collaborating with Selena Gomez and Niall Horan on songs for her EP Inner Monologue Part I. She also joined James Bay on his new track, “Peer Pressure.” So who’s left to collab with?
“I've written with Ed Sheeran, but I've never done a song with him,” she says. “I think that would be really awesome because we write very similarly. We both write from the heart.”
She also cites The Weeknd and newcomers Alec Benjamin and Dominic Fike as others she’d like to work with someday.
Julia hits the stage tonight for Pink’s Beautiful Trauma tour stop in San Antonio, Texas.
Daniele Venturelli/Daniele Venturelli/ Getty ImagesNow that Orlando Bloom is engaged to Katy Perry, he doesn’t need his bachelor pad anymore.
According to Variety, the actor has put his Beverly Hills, California home up for sale for an asking price of nearly $9 million.
The modern, minimalist property features four bedrooms and four bathrooms, a sunken sitting room, a zero-edge swimming pool and spa, and a fire pit. The master suite opens to a lounging and dining deck with skyline views.
It’s unclear if Katy and Orlando will buy a new home together, but they may not need to, since Katy already has plenty of properties to choose from.
Last month she sold two side-by-side homes at the top of Runyon Canyon for $12.7 million, but she still owns two multi-million-dollar homes in Beverly Hills and is involved in an ongoing bid to acquire a convent in Los Feliz that she plans to convert into a family compound.
Atlantic RecordsWhy Don’t We has teamed up with Macklemore for their new song, an ode to staying in called “I Don't Belong in This Club.”
The boy band and the rapper released the surprise collab Wednesday, along with a music video. In the clip, they poke fun at everything annoying about a night out: waiting on line, paying the cover charge and getting stuck with DJ playing the same songs on repeat.
When Macklemore rolls up, he transforms the dull club into a colorful ‘70s disco.
“Shoulda stayed on the sofa/Forgot I hate being social/And I miss my ex-girl/This Drake song makin’ me ‘motional/I’m feelin’ awkward as hell," Macklemore raps. "I only came here to dance/The DJ ain’t playin’ the cuts/And what do I do with my hands"
Why Don’t We kicks off the 8 Letters Tour tonight in Phoenix, AZ.
Photo by John Shearer/Getty Images via ABCIt’s no secret Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are quite the happy couple these days -- so why haven’t they tied the knot? Us Weekly claims to know the answer.
Citing an unnamed, exclusive source, the publication says Gwen is waiting on the Catholic Church. She’s allegedly begun “the formal process” to have her marriage to rocker Gavin Rossdale annulled, “so she can marry Blake and have it be recognized by the church.”
Gwen and Gavin have three sons together: Kingston, who’s 12; Zuma, who’s 10; and 4-year-old Apollo.
“Gwen’s religion has always been extremely important to her,” the anonymous insider says, “and Blake is completely supportive of this.”
Us Weekly also alleges living arrangements may be a hang-up, since Gwen is based solely in Los Angeles, while Blake splits his time between L.A. and his native Oklahoma.
Blake and Gwen revealed their relationship in November of 2015, after his surprise divorce from Miranda Lambert the previous July.
The week of Valentine’s Day 2019, Miranda had some unexpected news of her own, revealing her January marriage to New York City cop Brendan McLoughlin.
