Regional Media Names New Operations Manager  - Kewanee

 

Illinois– (September 27) – Regional Media, parent company of radio stations and multimedia news and sports websites in Iowa, Illinois, and Hawaii, announced today that it has chosen J.R. Kitchens to fill the vacant role of Operations Manager at its Henry County location.

 

Kitchens, a 30 plus year radio veteran comes to the area with vast experience in local radio spanning from Alaska, where he oversaw the operations of a 5-station combo KSRM-AM, KSLD-AM, KKIS-FM, KWHQ- FM and KFSE-FM. A highly successful host of KWHQ Morning show was his primary responsibility. J.R. also produced and hosted the morning show on super Country K-99 (KGMN) in Bullhead City, Arizona.

 

“I love radio and I love my job,” says Kitchens when asked about his new position with Regional Media.

 

JR’s, most recent role in media was with Regional Media in Sterling, Illinois where he was instrumental in the recovery and rebuild of WSDR-AM and FM, Q105.5 and Big Country 102.7 when Regional Media acquired the stations in 2017. His leadership and expertise helped lead WSDR AM-FM to the station to the coveted “Station of the Year” award from the Illinois Broadcasters Association.

 

Regional Media’s COO, Rick Feltner stated, “J.R.’s award winning experience will be a great asset to the company overall. Strong, locally focused individuals are the people we want on our team.”

 

In addition to the operations responsibility of the Regional Media stations in Henry County, JR will host, the new expanded morning show on Hog Country 102.5 slated to start next week
